Traditional, non-organic cotton is known for being doused with pesticides and harsh chemicals- even chemicals used as toxic nerve agents, according to sources such as the Environmental Justice Foundation and the Pesticide Action Network UK.
There is, however, a distinct line between organic clothing and vegetable-based clothing.
Biobaby is the world’s first babywear line to take the pure, organic, safe concept a step further, creating fabric more soft, pure, and safe than its organic competitors.
Interacting with customers from all walks of life, the creator of Momzee and Biobaby, Lavinia, noticed a common trend during her experience.
“Organic apparel is a misleading industry. It turns out a fabric can be processed with a minimum of 50% organic content and still pass off as ‘organic’. However, our vegetable-dyes are a meticulous process that yields 100% absolutely pure, organic fabric.”
No part of the fabric made from vegetable-dyes ever comes into contact with chemicals.
She continues, “Mothers want to drape their babies in only the softest, purest of fabric, and raise them on gentle, nourishing foods. Much love and care takes place in the rearing of an infant. In the same vein, I started treating the line like a beloved, precious, infant, and looked under every rock for the best possible resources.”
